In December 2013, the new Kaohsiung Exhibition and Convention Center was awarded the United Nations Environment Programme 2013 Livable Communities Awards Gold Medal. MAA performed construction management services for this state-of-the-art waterfront exhibition center. An intelligent building with green architecture, this exhibition center is able to host over 1400 booths, with a large conference hall capable of holding up to 2000 attendees. Its South hall is 27m high, which allowed the venue to display mega-yatchs indoors, one of Kaohsiung's primary industries. With most of this light structure consisting of steel and glass, this unique building and its environmental considerations serve as a landmark for Taiwan's busy international ports in Kaohsiung City.
