A 247 km long high speed rail section between Wuhan and Guangzhou

MAA International, as a member of a consortium formed with Dutch company ARCADIS and local Chinese design institutes, has been awarded in January 2006 the contract for the construction supervision of a 247.5 km long section of the High Speed Passenger Designated Line (PDL) from Wuhan City in Hubei province to Hwadu City in Guangdong province (Wu-Guang Line) via Xianning, Yueyang, Changsha, Chuzhou, Hengyang, Linzhou, Shaoguan and Chingyuan, etc.

 

Project characteristics

The project includes 142 bridges with a total length of 97.315 km and 73 tunnels with a total length of 90.17 km (17 tunnels over 1000 m), 102 km elevated rail, 551 km of electric cable, 682 km of communication fiber cable and 4 newly built stations in Lechang, Shaoguan, Yinde and Chingyuan. MAA was in charge of the construction supervision for embankment sections and quality management on related works and acted as coordinator between ARCADIS, the Chinese design institutes and the client.
