The turnkey project of 161kv power system underground tunnel is located in Tainan, Taiwan. To fulfill the need for an increased power supply while minimizing disruption to Tainan's landscape, Taiwan Power Company decided to construct a new underground main high volt power supply system for Tainan. The project included a 2.45km underground tunnel, working shafts and connect underpass work adjacent to power station, electrical workshop office evaluation, etc. MAA provided design works including civil, architectural and electric systems.
Located along Taiwan's south western coast, MAA was constantly wary of the effects of water levels based on tides, and incorporated these elements in the engineering design. As on of Taiwan's longest microtunneling operations, the complex design considerations awarded MAA with the 2010 Public Construction Golden Quality Award by Taiwan's Executive Yuan.
