Military camp brownfield redevelopment

Several military camps on Matsu Islands were reverted back to civilian use in 2009 and 2010. MAA was tasked with investigating the quality of soil and groundwater in Lienchiang County, in order to control any soil and water pollution.

 

Scope of work

  • Investigating and analyzing the farmlands of areas with high pollution potential
  • Investigating and analyzing the soil of military camps which had been evacuated and would be transferred to the Lienchiang County Government
  • Investigating and analyzing the soil near high pollution potential areas
  • Investigating and analyzing the soil from the oil depot and the gas station
  • Investigating 10 groundwater monitoring wells in Lienchiang County during dry season
  • Investigating and analyzing 10 wells in high pollution potential area
  • Investigating and analyzing 10 wells near oil depots for military and citizens
  • Installing 2 standard wells and 4 temporary monitoring wells
