River remediation:

The Chung Gang Drainage Channel streams through the downtown area of the populated Xinzhuang City in New Taipei City. The increasing home and industrial wastewater disposal has resulted in frequent floods, water pollution and ecological damages to the area. The Taipei County Government called for a pollution improvement and environmental planning for a 2.3 km section of the Chung Gang Drainage Channel, which starts from the upstream Zili Street and ends at the downstream intersection with Guizikeng River.

 

The project scope includes:

Flood prevention & interception—interception culvert box, recycling /pump station, detention area, trash rack and water gate

Environmental planning—a river walk, lighting, sprinkler system, fountain, tree and flower planting, landscape improvement along the drainage corridor and bridges

Vision Hall—a multi-functional facility with an exhibition hall, a management office, meeting rooms, restrooms and storage, audiovisual, catering and recreational areas

Bridges—11 bridges of which 5 are to be rebuilt, 4 are to be newly built and 2 are to be improved

Freshwater injection—control center and equipment for water recycling and related facilities

Operation and management—3 years operation and management works.
