A MRT for Taichung, the third largest city in Taiwan

The Taichung MRT is a new MRT network currently under construction in Taichung, the third largest city in Taiwan located in the central-western part of the island. MAA was hired as the General Consultant to perform basic design work for the whole system at the start of the project, and then as project manager for the 16.7 km long Green Line, which includes 15.9 km long viaducts, 0.77 km at grade sections, 16 elevated stations, 2 ground sections and 1 maintenance depot. In addition, MAA also established a control baseline for the railway and its operations in order to protect the buildings along the line during and after construction. Finally, MAA also conducted feasibility studies for the creation of the Blue Line, which will be built in the future as a BRT or an MRT.
