Designing interchange stations in Bangkok

MAA was part of a consortium (Mouchel Consulting Ltd., Chotichinda Mouchel Consultants Ltd., MVA Limited, MAA, Transconsult Co., Ltd.) selected to conduct the feasibility study and masterplan for the underground linking area for the 35 subway interchange stations, Bangkok skytrain and bus lines running into the city. The underground links will offer a mixture of lifestyle stores, eateries, fashion outlets, and other commercial facilities. Only 8 subway interchange stations will be selected for further detailed design. Space planning, passenger circulation, comfort, safety & security were considered as a part of the masterplan and detailed design. MAA’s associated firm, SURV, was responsible for site planning, architecture, landscape and public arts, while Gibsin was in charge of building services work.
