Designing the MRT system of Taiwan’s second largest city
MAA was the detailed design consultant for Contract Lot CO2, CR6, and CD1 of the Kaohsiung MRT BOT project. CO2 includes 3 underground stations and 2 twin shield bored tunnels. CR6 includes 3 underground stations, a cut and cover tunnel and 3 twin shield bored tunnels. CD1 includes a depot. MAA was also the design review consultant for Contract Lot CR4, which includes a circular excavation shaft with a 140 m wide diameter and a 30 m deep diaphragm wall, the largest excavation of its kind in the world at the time of construction. Finally, along its associated architecture and planning firm, SURV, MAA performed detailed design work for the 55 ha Daliao MRT Station and Depot.
