On 18 April 2008, National Tsing-Hua University (NTHU) held the opening ceremony of the new College of Technology Management TSMC Building. TSMC (Taiwan Semi-Conductor Inc.), the founder and the world’s largest dedicated semiconductor foundry, committed over NT$ 180 million to the construction of the NT$420 million building, with the mission of facilitating industrial and technological progress through supports to education and research institutes. TSMC Building symbolizes the many years of close cooperation between TSMC and NTHU.
The TSMC Building is a 9-storey (35.7 m high) building with a total of 9787 square-meter in area, with one level of basement. The building includes lecture hall, library, teaching rooms and research rooms, etc. The building structure mainly adopts a reinforced concrete design with steel structures to support the atrium area and the large lecture hall. MAA was engaged by the client to provide project management and construction supervision services, which contributed to the successful completion of the building.
