The High Speed Rail (HSR) Project is a symbol of the long-term relationship between Thailand and China, and seeks to provide significant economical growth to the regions connected by this Project. The Project is expected to boost local economies near the stations, in particular for relevant service industries such as hotels, restaurants, and other recreational facilities. This Project is planned to begin in the Northeastern Region of Thailand. The Project connects Bangkok and Nakhon Ratchasima with a total length of 252km, including viaducts, 6.44km tunnel, and 63 km at grade section. Design speed for this HSR is 250km/hr. The consortium of MAA and TEAM were engaged by The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) to review the design submitted by the China Railway Design Corporation (CRDC).
