Bringing broadband Internet to the Matsu Archipelago
With five townships, including the famous Matsu Island, Lienchiang County is a county under the Fuchien Province. In a series of projects to improve communication and development in the islands, the Lienchiang County Government engaged MAA to provide planning and design services for broadband channels. Specifically, the contract included the planning of approximately 48,000 m of broadband channels around the five major islands of Lienchiang County and the detailed design of a road section holding 10,000 m of broadband channels in Nangan Township and Dongyin Township. A cable channel box structure was adopted for the broadband channel.
Online GIS-based management plateform
In addition, in 2010, MAA provided a WebGIS solution for road excavation management in Lienchiang County. Government officials are now able to manage the road excavation works applied by utilities companies more efficiently, which reduces management costs and the risk of damaging utilities during public works. Citizens can also find the relevant information for ongoing and future road excavation works in the system.
