Common Utility Duct Systems

An overall common duct utility system planning is required for any city that needs to build common duct utilities underground. Planning includes quantity estimation, site investigation, development feasibility, model & structure selection, environmental impact, best economic solution and development phasing.

Taiwan’s Common Duct Act

In accordance with Taiwan’s Common Duct Act, the central government chose 5 provinces and 2 municipalities to carry out the prototype planning and design of Common Duct systems for the whole Taiwan. MAA was engaged to plan the Common Duct system for 4 of the 7 designated areas, namely Taipei, Kaohsiung, Chiayi and Hsinchu. Taking in account the local economy and city character, MAA proposed different system networks for each city. In addition, MAA provided clients with the most economical criteria for common duct design and construction.
