Increasing the number of electricity pipelines

A common duct under Dadu Road had to be developed in order to meet the demands from Taipower (Taiwan’s public electricity company) to set up more electricity lines. MAA was engaged to carry out the planning and design work for this project. The scope of services includes civil construction design, mechanical and electrical construction design, drafting of traffic safety maintenance plan and protection of existing structures.

Project characteristics

The duct starts at the Dadu Road and Guandu Road intersection and extends to Chengde Road before turning south to the Jhoumei Expressway. The total duct length is 3.2 kilometers and contains electricity (including a 161 KV transmission cable and a 22.8 KV distribution cable), military signal lines and future pipelines. To reduce construction costs and traffic maintenance, a cut and cover construction method was adopted.
