A sustainable premium research facility near Nangang in East Taipei

With the approval of the Executive Yuan, the Academia Sinica decided to build a NTD 21.6 billion National Biotechnology Research Park on 25 ha freed by the 202 Defense Factory. The project scope includes the "National Biotechnology Research Park" and an "ecological research area”. The park will be divided into three major areas: a research area, an artificial wetland restoration area and an ecological reserve area.

 

The project scope for planning and design includes roads, pipelines, landscaping, public facilities and artificial wetlands. The project scope for architecture includes a biomedical and translational research center, a core theme research center, a bioinformatics center, an incubation center, a business service center, a national laboratory animal center, a biotechnology development center, a food and drug administration unit, etc. The project is anticipated to have a building coverage ratio of 50% and a floor area ratio of 240%. The eight buildings will achieve at least five indicators that satisfy the silver level of Taiwan Green Building.
