Upgrading Cambodia’s third international airport
Sihanoukville Airport, also known as Kang Keng Airport, is Cambodia’s third international airport, located near Sihanoukville on the country’s southwestern coast. Initially built in the 1960’s, it was in need of an upgrade and was not being fully used.
New parallel taxiway
In 2007, MAA performed detailed design work for the construction of a new parallel taxiway to upgrade and expand the facility in order to meet growing tourist demand and cargo services. The project included a preliminary study, conceptual masterplan, cost estimation and detailed design for the widening of 2 existing taxiways, aprons extension to accommodate 4E class aircraft, turn pad extensions, cross taxiway at runway No.5 and a cargo apron for 4E class aircraft.
