Replacing the old Henry Ford Bridge in Los Angeles

Constructed in 1924, the Henry Ford Bridge (also known as the Badger Avenue Bridge) provided the only railroad link to Terminal Island from the mainland between 1934 and 1996, when the current vertical-lift bridge replaced it. It was one of only two surviving double-leaf bascule railroad bridges in North America designed by Joseph Strauss, the designer of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.

Scope of work

MAA was hired by Carter Burgess and Kal Krishnan to perform geotechnical studies for the bridge replacement.
