A spectacular new bridge to relieve the traffic across the Tahan River
In order to reduce the heavy traffic of Fuxing bridge in Fuxing village, the government decided to build the Lofu bridge south-east of Fuxing bridge. The project includes a steel arch bridge with an approach. The length and width of the bridge are 210 m and 10.8 m respectively, and the length and width of the approach 320 m and 10 m. The 230 m steel arch bridge span stretches across the Tahan River, with a rise of 27 m and deck width of 10.8 m. The rib of the main arch is made of 1.8 m x 1 m steel box sections. Mass concrete foundation is used with additional rock anchors to stabilize the side slope.
