A new Internet data center in Banqiao

This new Internet data center (IDC) is located in Banqiao in New Taipei city. A cloud-based data center using the IBM EMDC II model D, it will be the island's first Tier-4 facility, the biggest computing-based IDC, one of only 12 facilities of its kind in the world and an important tool to maintain Taiwan’s global competitiveness.

The building, a reinforced concrete office & facility building built on a 2 ha site, has a 3 floor basement and four & eleven floors with 101,000 m2 GFA.

IDC park's Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) rating, a Green Grid's Energy Efficiency Indicator, should be silver (1.43 to 1.67); in addition, the building aims to achieve the LEED 3 gold certification. Indeed, its capacity to reduce carbon emissions is expected to outstrip 20 Da-An Forest Parks, one of the main parks of Taipei.

The building technical areas are outfitted with equipment and racks installed such as UPS, Batteries, related power panels, Gas Extinguishing System, etc. Through the integration of BIM technology in the MEP detail design stage, it is possible to find and solve problems, avoids conflicts and save construction costs and time.
