China Life Insurance invested 600 million USD to build a new headquarter. The building was designed by a first-class design team and the latest construction techniques were applied. It was the first building in Taiwan to use eco-friendly double-skin facade. To maintain corporate social responsibility and eco-friendly, the construction site maintained 68% green space, 8925.66 m2 open green spaces, and kept the old trees. This was an A-Level comprehensive commercial building with a hotel in it. It was expected to be the landmark between Zhongxiao East Road and Songshan Airport area. China Life Insurance acquired the 70-year superficies for 13,389 m2 site area of Taipei Hostel for 447 million USD. The following information contained details of the design: Total gross floor area was 87,787 m2, base area was 13,389 m2, 5 basements, and 18 stories.
