A new model for green urban life

Xinzhuang Second City Center is a dense, 100 ha transit-oriented mixed-use development located west of Taipei in New Taipei City. As a second downtown located north of the existing Xinzhuang City, it has a strong commercial component (40% of land use) as well as residential areas for 11 000 inhabitants. The location is served both by several expressways as well as three MRT lines, the Airport and Circular Lines on the Eastern side of the site and the Xinzhuang Line south of it.

Commercial and residential developments are equipped with open space, pedestrian and cycling networks and crossed by the Chung Gang Drainage Channel, which used to be a flood-prone and polluted drainage channel and has now be transformed by MAA into a pleasant artificial river on the model of the Cheonggyecheon River in Seoul, with walking paths, landscaped areas, a flood control system and boating activities on the river.
