Providing a modern new town to accommodate Taipei housing needs

In order to provide adequate housing to Taipei residents, improve environmental quality and balance regional development, the Construction & Planning Administration of the Ministry of Interior decided to create the Danhai New Town. The site is located in New Taipei City, about 16 km northwest from the center of Taipei City, and has a total area of 1,765 ha. The new town is planned to be developed in three phases, which will serve an estimated population of 300,000.

 

Scope of work

MAA was engaged to undertake the planning/design review and construction supervision of Phase 1, Zone 2 of the New Town, which is about 140 ha large. The scope of work includes a feasibility study, planning, design review and project management for roadway systems, site grading, drainage, sewer systems, water supply network, a wastewater treatment plant, electrical engineering and facilities, telecommunications systems, lighting and signalization and other related support facilities.
